South African Society for Quality National Quality Conference 12 - 13 Nov 2009
TC 176 Invitation - Salvern Rajah to attend - Click for more
SASQ caters for individual membership and is open to all quality practitioners.
Quality practitioners include all individuals who are involved in the promotion and management of quality, such as lecturers, training providers, quality managers, quality auditors, quality consultants, and students - to name just a few, without being exhaustive. If we believe “everyone is responsible for quality,” then everyone in their own individual right, has the opportunity to join SASQ.
SASQ offers various grades of individual membership.
These grades are:
- Scholar: Student in a school.
- Student: An unemployed student at a tertiary institution.
- Forum Member: A member who only has an interest in engaging with a specific forum.
- Member: A member who has no formal qualifications towards quality management. These members may only vote for office bearers at Branch level and may participate as branch committee members, and influence any branch activity that does not influence the management of the society.
- Senior Member: A member who has formal recognised qualifications and /or relevant experience in quality management. Senior members are entitled to influence the management of the society through their respective branches.
- Professional Member: A member who has passed a certification examination / or gains recognition by means of research and publications / or recognised by means of the contribution to the body of knowledge. The influence towards the management of the society remains the same as senior members.
- Fellow Member: Awarded to a Senior Member of the Society who has given exceptional service to the Society or to the Quality Profession. Proposals shall be made by a Branch Chairman and supported by the committee along with relevant supporting documentation. This is then sent to National Office whereupon the National Council must have unanimous agreement for the conferment of this membership status.
We would like all quality managers, quality assurance managers, quality control mangers, quality engineers, quality consultants, quality auditors, production managers, members of other quality interest groups, students, lecturers and training providers to become members of this society. Remember it is a society that exists to benefit your profession.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we would like to extend an open invitation to persons who want to make some kind of contribution towards SASQ to contact one of the council members. We would also welcome corporate organisations to assist us in terms of sponcerships and donations.
